The Deanship of Scientific Research was established at the university in 1997, then renamed in 2011, after the establishment of the master's programme, to become the Deanship of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies:
First: Issuing the Irbid Research and Studies Journal, a peer-reviewed journal specialised in the following fields:
Humanities and social sciences.
Educational Sciences.
Economics and Administrative Sciences.
Sharia and law sciences.
Secondly: Considering applications for the disbursement of scientific research encouragement bonuses and making appropriate recommendations.
Third: Managing the postgraduate studies programme in coordination with the concerned departments in accordance with the instructions.
Fourth: Considering requests for supporting and publishing scientific research and making appropriate recommendations thereon.
Fifth: Supervising the Distinguished Researcher Competition and setting the criteria for it.
Sixth: Refereeing scientific books for teaching and promotion purposes: Consideration of requests for the disbursement of rewards for encouraging scientific research, and making appropriate recommendations.
Seventh: Developing proposals for instructions related to scientific research at the university.
Eighth: Holding scientific conferences, seminars and lectures.
