Department of Cultural and Artistic Activity

Based on the modern educational frameworks, the university provides various activities aimed at developing and refining the student’s person, and in line with this educational goal, the department in the Deanship of Student Affairs provides cultural, artistic, and social activities for students, and takes care of the behavior of university students through well-studied programs to develop the spirit of responsibility and belonging of the student, and create a suitable university climate for students through active participation in various cultural, artistic and social activities, as well as attention to student bodies and clubs and provide the opportunity for the largest possible number of students. To achieve their desires and hobbies of various kinds and discover students’ talents and abilities through activity bodies and student clubs, through the various facilities provided by the Department of Cultural and Artistic Activity at the Deanship of Student Affairs through:

First: Cultural Activity:

The cultural activity in the Deanship aims at the following:

1. The cultural movement is activated by forming a cultural base among students that enables them to interact with different situations.
2. Assist students in forming their own views and clear opinions, and expressing them freely.
3. Translating the outcome of cultural activity at the university into an intellectual, literary, and artistic product that expresses the young spirit in our society.
4. Organizing cultural programs and competitions for university students in the fields of (poetry, article, story, public speaking, debate, … etc) of activities, whether at the individual or group level.
5. Holding various exhibitions for various exhibits in coordination with the faculties of the university.
6. Organizing and participating in cultural days and seasons, whether within the university or at the level of other Jordanian universities.
7. Participation and celebration of religious and national events, participation in national camps and gatherings.

Second: Artistic activity consists of:

• University Studio:

Based on its philosophy of developing the latent talents of students, the university worked to create a university studio to attract and develop all creative artistic talents, promote artistic taste, and support the young artistic movement.

To be a cultural and artistic base developed for university students, the studio works to host various exhibitions of artists from all artistic trends in addition to the student’s practice of his hobby inside the university studio, where the studio provides all the necessary equipment for practicing the hobby, and the studio provides students participating in it the opportunity to interact in art competitions at the internal and external levels.

In order to motivate the members of the university studio, the Deanship holds an annual ceremony in honor of distinguished students, active participants in the activities of the studio, and other extracurricular activities of the Deanship.

• Musical activity:

This activity is represented by playing and singing in the field of music, in the field of theater in acting, theater directing, and in the field of folk arts in folk singing and dabke.

This activity aims to:

1. Developing a sense of artistic, musical, lyrical, and theatrical beauty, and tasting folk arts with their originality.
2. Detecting and refining the potential talents of students, and directing them in a field that serves the interest of the student and the university at the same time.
3. Forming collective singing groups (choir), solo singing, solo and group playing, theater groups, and folk folklore.
4. Training students on various musical instruments in the musical activity hall, and other activities.
