The idea of establishing the Office of Career Guidance and Alumni / King Abdullah II Fund for Development in Jordanian universities came based on the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, with the aim of helping students make correct decisions regarding their lives and career paths by providing many services and training programs to develop their skills and prepare them to engage in the labor market.

Objectives

• Providing advice and counseling services to achieve harmonization between the outputs of the educational system and the inputs of the labor market, through:

• Providing a database on the needs of labor markets of human resources.

• Aligning the communication skills that students are trained on with the real needs of the labor market locally and regionally.

• Assist students in securing permanent employment opportunities after graduation or temporary during their university education.

• Opening channels of communication between the student community in universities, private sector actors, and civil society organizations.

First: Training students on skills

• Conduct job interviews when applying for jobs.

• Preparation of a CV.

• Search for job opportunities.

• Negotiate salary and incentives.

Second: Providing advice and technical advice to students and graduates to enhance their ability to obtain available job opportunities, through

• Provide personal advice and guidance.

• Holding specialized workshops.

• Use databases and the information they provide.

Third: Providing information on the needs of labor markets, on a permanent basis.

Fourth: Providing the requirements and means of students’ transfer from the academic university environment to the professional and practical environment of the labor markets.

Fifth: Assisting students in securing permanent or temporary job opportunities, and helping those wishing to join volunteer work programs and public service activities.

Sixth: Preparing and organizing advanced applied training programs to enable students to obtain the minimum levels of practical experience, within their specializations before graduating from universities.

Seventh: Assisting students and graduates to determine their goals and career directions by identifying the individual skills required in the fields of various professions.

Eighth: Providing advice and counseling services, and providing a database on the needs of the labor market of human resources.

Ninth: Aligning the communication skills that students are trained with real needs, and helping students secure permanent job opportunities after graduation.

Tenth: Opening channels of communication between the student community in universities, private sector actors, and civil society organizations.

Alumni Follow-up Unit

Since its inception, the university began to take care of its students, whether sitting on the study benches or graduates, so the club was established to work on communication between universities, and its graduate students by making records and statistics about graduates in terms of their numbers, addresses, places of work, job opportunities available to them, and the possibility of providing job opportunities for them, and also works to strengthen the graduate’s relationship with the university culturally and socially by attending various university events and activities.
