Establishment of the College

The Department of Nursing at Irbid National University was established in 2007 as a department within the departments of the College of Science and Information Technology, and it represented the first bachelors program in nursing in the north among the private universities to meet the local markets need for trained nursing cadres, and the Department of Nursing was separated from the College of Science and Information Technology to the College of Nursing in 2018 in order to keep pace with the developments and needs of the labor market and the changes that have occurred in the profession and the special health needs of the Jordanian society. The College of Nursing aims to graduate a qualified nursing staff who can address multiple human needs and play an active role in providing health care.

Mission

The College of Nursing is committed to graduating a highly qualified nursing staff capable of providing distinguished and comprehensive nursing care to individuals, families and local communities, and keeping pace with the challenges they face in a rapidly changing environment.

Objectives:

  • Provide quality education and professional development for students of the College of Nursing.
  • Enhance the desire of graduates to learn continuously.
  • Urging and supporting scientific research in all fields of nursing sciences.
  • Strengthen links between the College of Nursing and the needs of the local community.
  • Encouraging the curricular activities of college students and linking them to the needs of the local community.
  • Applying quality standards in education and training using the latest methods and techniques.
  • Preparing nursing cadres and leaders who are scientifically and practically qualified in the field of nursing care according to international academic standards.
  • Keeping pace with the modern scientific and technical developments that occur in the world in the field of nursing.
  • Focusing on the importance of having the outputs of the educational process to enable graduates to compete with their peers from other universities in graduate studies and career work.
  • Serving the local community in particular and the Jordanian community in general through cooperation with Jordanian governmental and private institutions in holding seminars, lectures, conferences and workshops whether inside or outside the university.
  • Providing nursing care to all segments of society in the therapeutic, clinical and preventive fields and linking nursing sciences with community problems
  • Holding conferences, seminars and workshops, whether inside or outside the university, in order to exchange experiences.
