The ceremony was opened with a speech by Dr. Fayez Al-Atoum, Dean of Student Affairs, who said: “Today, we stand in this lofty scientific edifice to talk about two great values that our hearts carry and our souls chant: dignity and Jerusalem. Dignity is not just a word that is said, but rather a supreme value that expresses our humanity, our free and independent existence, and our rejection of all forms of injustice and occupation. Dignity is what drove our ancestors to defend the land and honor, and it is what still runs through the veins of our youth, sharpening their resolve and motivating their determination to achieve dreams despite the challenges. As for Jerusalem, it is the jewel of dignity, the title of steadfastness, and the symbol of peace and civilization. Jerusalem is not just a city, it is the destination of hearts and the meeting place of souls. It is the living history that carries within it the greatness of the past and the hopes of the future. Every stone in its streets and every olive tree in its land pulsates with life, witnessing the struggle of our nation and its endless patience.” He added that dignity and Jerusalem are closely linked; There is no dignity without Jerusalem, and no Jerusalem without dignity. Therefore, we have a great responsibility to instill in future generations the love of Jerusalem and the value of dignity, and to teach them that a dignified life can only be achieved through determination, and that Jerusalem can only be liberated through unity and willpower. He concluded his speech by thanking everyone who contributed to keeping the flame of dignity burning in our hearts, and everyone who works to support the cause of Jerusalem in all forums, and called on everyone to always remain true to our covenant, loyal to dignity and Jerusalem, working for a brighter future for our nation. Prof. Dr. Fikri Al-Duwairi, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of celebrating dignity and Jerusalem as symbols of steadfastness and struggle in the face of occupation and aggression, indicating that the Battle of Dignity was a turning point in the history of our nation, as it embodied the will to persevere and challenge, and that Jerusalem will remain a symbol of unity and the ancient human legacy that we all cherish. He stressed that our celebration of dignity means that we are not lost and we are not weak, as we have dignity, civilization and roots in history. He stressed that the strength of Jordan is the strength of Syria, Palestine and the Arab nation, and called on God Almighty to protect Jordan, its leadership and the entire Arab nation. Writer Ahmed Al-Sharaira and writer Nadia Bani Salama gave speeches in which they explained the great role that Jordan, led by the Hashemites, played in Jerusalem as a central issue, and what His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein played in his defense and support of our people in Gaza and Jerusalem. The program of the ceremony began with the national anthem, and the student Abdul Rahman Shalabi recited a number of verses from the Holy Quran.
