The family of Irbid Private University extends its congratulations to the former university clinic physician, Colonel Dr. Rami Al-Khasawneh, Director of the Military Oncology Center Laboratories/Royal Medical Services, on his and his accompanying team’s development of the T-cell technology for patients with severe leukemia and incurable lymphomas, which no longer respond to lymphoma and classical treatment..
Dr. Al-Khasawneh explained that the Royal Medical Services is the first in the Kingdom and neighboring countries to develop this technology, indicating that T cells are naturally present in the human body and that the laboratory performs genetic modification to transform these cells into cells capable of attacking and killing cancer.
Dr. Al-Khasawneh explained that the introduction of the technology takes place in four stages to ensure its effectiveness. Each stage is through a natural donor whose cells are injected with these cells. Then the number of these cells, their type, effectiveness, and safety level are verified through laboratory tests. Then a sample of the patient’s blood is taken and his T cells are converted into T cells capable of attacking cancer cells. After that, the patient is monitored daily, which indicates that the treatment is proceeding as required. This technology is a promising treatment as it has given very good results on a global level..
